A nice change of weather...

What do I do on a nice cool sunny day?? I am covered in dust, dust and more dust. It is the result of cleaning the garage...throwing out all the useless stuff. Funnily, half the stuff we left on the footpath had disappeared within a couple of hours. This pile of junk included mirrors, bed bunk, mattresses, frying pan and chairs. One's rubbish is another's gem....hahaha.

Restore to factory setting....

My collection of photos and songs for the past year and a half have vanished into thin air. There was no other option but to restore the computer back to its factory settings :(

There are some things which I wish to have recovered and kept for memory sake but it could not be rescued!!! So if anyone have songs, photos or whatever..haha..send to adachum@gmail.com so that I can revive my collection of photos and songs!! :)

Well, at least the modem is working once again....but boohoo to all my lost data and all the re-downloading of programs!!!

Alcohol trivia...

Check out the evidence of studies exhorting the benefits of wine: antioxidant-loaded pinot noir may lessen your chance of Alzheimer's (Litwin-Zucker Research Centre, New York, November); two glasses of red a day could halve your risk of developing cataracts if you're over 55 (Reykjavik Eye Study, Iceland, May); and drinking oak-barrel-aged wines may be more effective at battling cancer than taking a commercial anti-cancer drug (Stephane Quideau, European Institute of Chemistry and Biology, France, 2003).

Hot and sticky

Much to do about nothing.....

Sitting, sitting, sitting...like a duck! The past few days have been pretty much the same routine...either grocery shopping or visiting relos. Hurstville is becoming my second home..haha. I seem to be there almost everyday or at least every second day!! It's boring when you visit 'old' relos. you know, when they are a generation above you, there's really nothing you could talk about except sit and listen to them talk and of course snack on whatever food they have on the kitchen table!! i guess i don't mind but it does get a bit boring...i even ended up washing some of their dishes...

From north to south

My farthest driving journey thus far. First time crossing sydney harbour bridge to the north then visited the south later in the arvo. Driving was smooth - maybe cause there were not too many cars on the road!! :) Parking is still a bit iffy...

Since the end of the exams, I've realised my net time have decreased considerably. No longer am I online 24/7 nor am I blogging every couple of hours. But I can explain...haha.

1) My computer with the mysterious removal of the modem still have not been fixed so currently using an old pc that is proned to stuffing up

2) Have been watching tapes - but far out the LAST disk of the movie is missing!!!!

3) Working on my 1500 piece puzzle

4) Msn not working on this pc..not many people on icq these days....

A different perspective.....

Why seventeen years rather than four years that marks the end?? Simply because for the past seventeen years we have had carried a backpack (or similar items that holds books in particular) on our backs!!

To satisfy a hungry appetite I've decided to give a different perspective of the post-exam events that happened or (didn't happen yesterday), highlighting the KEY events!! :D

During the 4 hours in a dark room: Hmmm...what would happen in a dark room, with a tv screen, loud speakers, 2 mics, a box of tissue, not-so-sound-proof rooms and comfy couches...For someone with 3 hours sleep the previous night, the most automatic response would be to 'sit back and relax'. When one relaxes, sleep is something that comes naturally. BUT...with good background music, musical voices and entertaining people, that didn't happen as I anticipated! Truly entertaining!! I definitely prefer to sit back and listen to other people sing because its so much more enjoyable and fun - so don't worry about me!! The singing must have brought out the sun too because there was a 180 degree change in weather during the 4 hours.

Eating korean: Yay definitely the highlight of the night...glad you came as well M!! It wasn't the food or the place but the people!! Why? Because there was combination of "WAR and BEAUTY" and "CAMERA, LIGHTS AND ACTION" - plenty to see and hear...war as in physical aggression from 'person' under influence of alcohol and beauty as in the after-effects of alcohol. The infamous 'blush'! Plenty of candid camera shots as well!! Too bad F's camera couldn't capture RAPID action...

I was slightly concerned that a person may have consumed a ‘bit too much’ alcohol (partly cause it was my suggestion..hmmm - but hey she took up the challenge :p). But obviously her tolerance to alcohol exceeded my expectations. But no doubt it put her on a high. I was caught in the firing line because I was in between the physical action that occur. The seating of the table being in a long row, I had NO WHERE to run - could not even slide under table. Squashed...haha is all I could say. Alcohol seemed to have brought out her talent (a theory called social facilitation whereby a person performing a proficient task will perform even better in the presence of other people). Ironic in a way – a ‘drunk’ collecting money for the bill.

The end of a beginning....

Yesterday marked the end of a seventeen year journey. A journey with ups and downs, successes and failures and most importantly, the development of life long friendships :p

Maybe I'm excited about starting a new chapter in life. Maybe sad to leave the old behind but hey, life goes on. The next three months will be a time to relax, reflect, plan and organise for the next phase in life...the journey in the wild, the unknown, the working world.

MODEM PROBLEM...a bliss maybe??

Maybe it's SIGN a SIGN!!!!!

4 more days till the end...modem not working...it has been 'REMOVED' automatically. how weird is that??? it's internal so there's definitely no unplugging on my behalf. i seriously have no idea what happened or what to do about it! i could call up ibm help desk but what if they tell me to send in the cpu?? it's no longer under guarantee period..more headaches to deal with after the exams...

Helppppppp

I can't stop myself from checking 'someone's' blog ten thousand times a day - and i don't even think i'm exaggerating that much!!!

Mouse Potato (n): a kind of couch potato, except the time spent is in front of a computer screen rather than a TV

I don't think i've ever been so dedicated to the net during exam time for my entire four years..why does it have to be so different the last time round? Who in the world bombards people with offline messages...I can't help it

what are the chances of me staging a disappearance until next friday??? (Not just no blogging, but no connection to the net) If I do, I'll win the next big lottery....Fat chance...

$%^&*

have done nothing productive apart from eating. noodles, crackers, ice cream, fruit and all.....i am on the verge of adding some profanity on this site but am resisting. today is ummm.....thursday. I should be studying accounting. I really should. But damn it. I can't cope. The amount of work I do in a day is minimal. I'm sure 2 hour solid work would equate to the amount I get done during the whole day.

Is this what you call exam anxiety or exam avoidance? Either way, come monday I will have to do the exam. So why can't I just study. Only one more week. Why can't I do something about it??? I keep telling myself that I SHOULD and HAVE TO study. But sitting at my desk, I read the same words over and over again. The sun is slowly setting and my room is getting darker...slowly..and slowly. Although the day has progressed, my work has not. Self discipline is what i need. Self control. Self motivation.......i know i've done nothing but complained. its not the first time nor will it be the last. but bear with me for another week...

is studying really that hard?????

In pain......

what is worse than a computing crashing on you? it's when microsoft word asks if you want to save the document and you click NO instead of YES!!!!!!!

MUST SEE!!!

This is a must see site: http://manimiafonyesblog.blogspot.com. The blog of my ever famous twin...aka F, Fi, Manimiafonyes, Bull-shitting Queen or simply My TWIN! Well it's really a come back, resurrection if you like of her long abandoned site. So show support, show encouragement!!!

Well, if anyone else wants free advertisement on this site just let me know. There's no guarantee it will be a success but at least a chance is better than no hope!!

A link is added under the chatterbox for future convenience!!

Oh gosh...i should be studying...what the...have been very distracted today..haha. can't concentrate - i must be affected by the weather too!!! Now I'm starting to feel all sentimental and dreamy....i'm complaining again...can't help it. some days are productive, other days are not. Today is one of those unproductive, frustrating days. i've eaten, i've play, i've watched tv, i've advertised...but just haven't worked. please my working soul..come back to me...plzzzzzz........i am consciously aware of the time...i MUST maximise my productivity, esp following the memory blockage in the last exam. concentrate...ok i'm blabbering...whenever i do that you know its not good. i know its not good.

Ok i've found a site:
CONCENTRATION-SOME BASIC GUIDELINES
1. Set aside a place for study and study only!
A. Find a specific place (or places) that you can use for studying (for example, the campus libraries, vacant classrooms, quiet areas in the student center, bedroom at home, etc.)

B. Make a place specific to studying. You are trying to build a habit of studying when you are in this place. So, don't use your study space for social conversations, writing letters, daydreaming, etc.

C. Insure that your study area has the following:
- good lighting
- ventilation
- comfortable chair, but not too comfortable
- desk large enough to spread out your materials

D. Insure that your study area does not have the following:
- distracting view of other activities that you want to be involved in
- telephone
- loud stereo
- 27-inch color TV
- roommate or friend who wants to talk a lot
- refrigerator stocked with scrumptious goodies

2. Divide your work into small, short-range goals.
A. Don't set a goal as vague and large as ... "I am going to spend all day Saturday studying!" You will only set yourself up for failure and discouragement.

B. Take the time block that you have scheduled for study and set a reachable study goal. (for example: finish reading 3 sections of chapter seven in my Psych. text, or complete one math problem, or write the rough draft of the introduction to my English paper, etc.)

C. Set your goal when you sit down to study but before you begin to work.

Set a goal that you can reach. You may, in fact, do more than your goal but set a reasonable goal even if it seems too easy.

OK..LET ME TEST IT OUT...

Death by dinner plate

Feel like being a bit gruesome tonight since I'm studying about cancer, AIDS and the like at the moment. Life is too short to enjoy everything. One can never really know when they would die or what would happen to them. So why not live life to the fullest and enjoy every minute of it. Also maybe a warning of broken cutlery as well...take care - don't fall over and break any glass!!!

A Victorian man bled to death after accidentally cutting his throat with a broken dinner plate, ambulance paramedics say.

The bizarre accident occurred about 6.10pm (AEDT) yesterday, when the 57-year-old Point Lonsdale man finished dinner and was taking the leftovers outside to give to his dog, the Geelong Advertiser reported.

The man fell while carrying food on a bowl or plate, said Rural Ambulance spokesperson Jessica Li.

"The bowl shattered and somehow cut him across the neck," Ms Li said.

"It's horrible. What are the chances the plate is going to break and you are going to fall on it that way?"

The man was unconscious when paramedics arrived, and they were unable to revive him, said Ms Li.

She said he bled to death.

from SMH

Just a little trivia: Heart attacks are most likely to occur on Mondays in the morning between 6-11am. Why? Because after waking up from dreaming and becoming active after waking up, people have higher blood pressure which increase platelet clotting. My guess on why Mondays, its because Garfield hates Monday and also people get stressed about having to go to work.

Memory failure

Reality has struck hard. I had a blank canvas in my mind during the exam....spent one week studying ONE subject. It always seems to happen :(

Now I have 6 days to study 3 subjects....its going be bad....maybe I would have benefited from a lesson in prioritising...

Stresssed

Stressed and really feeling it now. Up to this point, I've just been procrastinating and working at a really slow pace. Now I'm very stressed. Feeling the exam anxiety, the pressure and getting scared. Feel like crying. Feel like a nice long sleep but do not have the time for that. Don't know why I'm blogging....maybe to release some frustration. Crying...screaming...silently....

Bad timing....

- library book got recalled before i even had a chance to look at it

- sudden feeling of lightheadedness and bluriness

- 1.5 days left - much to cram

- strange dreams

- tiredness

- exactly 13 days to go......

Tip of the tongue (TOT)

People often say if you can explain concepts to others then that is when you truly understand it: let me have an attempt..what is tip of the tongue?

Tip of the tongue occurs when you know you have something in memory but temporarily cannot retrieve it. e.g. you remember that face from somewhere but you cant quite remember the name....sound familar?

there are two theories related to this phenomena. the first is called the Baker/baker paradox and the other is the 'Cinderella and the ugly sisters'. the baker/baker paradox refers to a study which found that participants remember occupations of people (baker) better than people's names (Mr Baker).

The reason is that remembering the name requires 3 steps in this particular order: perceptual, conceptual (C)and phonological (P). in order to move for C to P, it involves a lexical connection when considering a common name, baker. However when considering a proper name, Mr Baker it involves another step called a person identity node (PIN).

The distinguishing feature between these two is that there are many possible conceptual links linking C to the lexical level (e.g. concepts of baker include kitchen ,bread, getting up early), which subsequently prompt the phonological name, baker (so it goes something like visual - conceptual - lexical - phonological). But for proper names, the lexical level only has one activation node, which is the PIN (Mr Baker) hence the proper name is harder to come by. in laymans term, it is easier to come up with examples or concepts relating to a 'baker' than to the person 'mr baker'....

now onto the cinderella story. a study found that another reason for TOT is the blocking of action slips. An analogy was made such that the memory search (prince) tries to find the correct word (Cinderella) to fit the defintion (slipper), but the related words (ugly stepsisters) intercept the search effort. The ugly stepsisters divert the prince's attention from Cinderella....i quite like this analogy (but I wonder what happened to the fairy godmother???)...haha.

congratulations for reaching so far down...i think i've confused you enough. i should go back to cramming...have been rather unproductive...could do better....

Scared...

I'm just scared about the exam...i'm not ready for it...this has become my portal for complaints...haha.

freaking out...the frustrating thing is process is going real slow. i really don't want to fail anything....but.....

Put one strawberry in your mouth, put one blueberry in your mouth...now start munching and let the sweetness melt in your mouth. a nice refreshing treat. ok i should go study now...

Trying.....

hope endocrine is going well for you mp..hehe.

no such luck for me. i've been stressed about the amount of work i need to get done. knowing me, there's no better way to deal with it than procrastinate. i start looking at one thing and then go, nah, i better study something else. the constant swapping between subjects and topics is driving me mad...not to mention, its making me go nowhere!!! i need to settle down, take it one step at a time and digest the info. but my digestive system is not doing too well.

maybe tonight i can do some stuff...time is ticking...i sense everyone is studying hard but myself...

good luck guys!!!

Falling.....

I am falling....

Falling in my studies...have been desperately trying to study for the past couple of days without much success. Went to uni for two days, 'trying' to study. Day 1 was productive. Day 2 was hopelessly helpless. No concentration at all.

Falling in....what's that four letter word that's hard to articulate??...I really shouldn't be watching tv a week away from my finals...but some people just have that special power that draws you towards them. So sweet, so caring, so kind...

Falling....hopefully I can pick myself up quickly over the next day or two so falling won't turn to failing.

It's so hard....but i will keep trying...

This is what you do when you study....

Your Brain's Pattern

Your brain is always looking for the connections in life.
You always amaze your friends by figuring out things first.
You're also good at connecting people - and often play match maker.
You see the world in fluid, flexible terms. Nothing is black or white.

Your Personality Profile

You are elegant, withdrawn, and brilliant.
Your mind is a weapon, able to solve any puzzle.
You are also great at poking holes in arguments and common beliefs.

For you, comfort and calm are very important.
You tend to thrive on your own and shrug off most affection.
You prefer to protect your emotions and stay strong.

You Are 50% Weird

Normal enough to know that you're weird...
But too damn weird to do anything about it!

Slow and Steady

Your friends see you as painstaking and fussy.

They see you as very cautious, extremely careful, a slow and steady plodder.

It'd really surprise them if you ever did something impulsively or on the spur of the moment.

They expect you to examine everything carefully from every angle and then usually decide against it.

Drink to old age....

For those 'moderate' drinkers out there...you might be doing yourself some good!!

Older people with a history of moderate drinking may suffer less mental decline than those who do not drink, a new study suggests.

The study, carried out by the Western Psychiatric Institute in the US, was based on data collected from more than a thousand people in Pennsylvania, aged 65 years and older, over a period of seven years.

"Health professionals have generally paid more attention to alcohol abuse and dependence, and their adverse consequences," said the study's author, Dr Mary Ganguli. "Our study suggests we should also consider the potential benefits of more modest patterns of alcohol use."

The study's participants, none of whom showed signs of dementia at the start of the study, were divided into three groups: one that did not drink; one that reported minimal drinking - once a month or less; and a third group that reported moderate drinking.

The study participants' mental function was assessed at the start of the study, then with periodic assessments every two years.

Overall, those classified as minimal and moderate drinkers exhibited less decline in their scores on tests that measured general mental status, executive functions and psychomotor speed, than non-drinkers.

Minimal drinkers also showed less decline in their scores on tests of learning, including learning a word list, and naming, than non-drinkers.

Potential reasons for the benefits of moderate drinking may be related to its cardiovascular effects, Dr Ganguli explained. It may also have a beneficial effect on the brain's neurotransmitters, or chemical messengers.

Despite the findings, Dr Ganguli insists the study "should not be interpreted as recommending initiation … of alcohol consumption to preserve mental functioning in the elderly."

She added: "What is needed now is not for people to run out and get drunk in the hope of preserving their brains, but for more studies to be conducted on the precise effects of alcohol on brain structure and function."

Previous studies have pointed to the benefits of moderate drinking - for instance, the beneficial effects on the heart from drinking red wine.

Last day at uni....

Went to uni this arvo to hand in my last ever uni assignment (hopefully). Funny how I bump into people at the labs - F, A and M. Captured some uni shots on camera then headed off to karaoke with F. Yup, 2 ppl k....haha...and one that doesn't sing much. wish i knew more songs and had a better voice cause both sucks big time. oh well...at least there weren't any cracked glasses or mirror which was good. some ppl are just so talented. Met up with M and headed down to jap restaurant for dinner with J, V, D and W. Gloria Jeans afterwards...ice chocolate with chocolate hazlenut something (forgot what it was called)...haha. overall, a very enjoyable time except for the bloatedness I'm feeling now.

Load of crap.....

Sometimes I think life can be just a load of crap. Obviously I'm not in a very good mood. Down with sinus problems - don't know whether its hayfever or something more sinister. At least telfast seems to be working at the moment....which i guess is a good sign. deja vu or just a repeating cycle. to me, things seem to happen in cycles. you're repeating history over and over again. things might differ a little each time but by and large its all the same. what am i aiming for? what's my ultimate goal? i don't have an answer for that. maybe in high school it was to get into uni. now in uni, its to get a job. but what now? although there are things accomplished, it doesn't really seem to be accomplished - its more the opening of more decisions, more problems and more scepticism. each time, more obstacles arise and you question whether you're heading in the right direction or making more mistakes. i suppose pessimism is what i'm feeling now.

Last uni days...

Sounds like I'm writing my last words again. Tomorrow will be the last official uni day for me - to top it off, it will end with a 'delayed' final exam at 6:30pm. Four years on that campus and it comes to an end just like that. Definitely doesn't feel like it. Somehow I still feel like I'm in second year. Maybe cause the accumulation of knowledge over the four years seems minimal. Don't think I've learnt much in terms of anything.

Since its my last semester and entire uni life, of course I have to stick to the tradition and make Friday my unofficial last day. Even without class, I still have to go in to hand in assignment! Fabulous end to the semester...and uni life.

Well if anyone is around uni on Friday 1pm, F and I will be around...let us know and we might snap up a couple of pics....haha (that's assuming assignment is completed before then). Wish more people are around on fridays. But oh well, who wants to hang on uni anyway...

Throwing fits...

my computer has recently been experiencing some serious fits....don't think moody is the right word tho...it has been continuously restarting out of the blue - without warning. word recovery is good but not perfect especially for someone with goldfish memory (apparently they only remember things for 3 seconds). i can't even remember what i just wrote let alone 5 minutes ago...(since auto recover is in 5min increments..i think).

it was bad last week, kinda was a bit better these couple of days but now its getting worse again. If only I can read the mind of my pc...what does it want?? I'll give it whatever it wants...but the only thing is i don't know what it wants....haha.

Wasted

This morning I "couldn't" wake up. By the time I finally got out of bed it was half an hour later than I was suppose to. Fully rushing and all - didn't even finish my cup of tea!..haha

Can one actually experience anger, frustration and find something hilariously funny all at once?? Well, when I got to class, it was empty except for two people - the very people in my group. We found it rather puzzling why the whole class realised that we didn't have class yet my group members and me turned up!! We're pretty sure the tutor never said there was no class today...but then...hmmmm.....

Can't go into the psyc labs anymore cause the psyc account has already been reset. NO MORE LAB ACCESS!!! how sad..don't like the feeling of being ostracised My only option now is the quad labs...which is very annoying. I've discovered in one of the quad lab, the usb port works but you cannot access anything - not even sirius, yahoo or ninemsn. In another one of the quad lab, you could access pretty much everything including icq but usb port does not work!!!!

hahaha....how did i know someone wasn't going to turn up to lecture...must be the 6th sense...i just knew it - somehow!!

Random

The rate at which i am blogging suggest pre-exam fever has struck. symptoms such as frustration, annoyance, procrastination, ranting like a maniac and staring into space are just some of the fatal signs.

"Our fatigue is often caused not by work, but by worry, frustration and resentment" - Dale Carnegie

"Laughter and tears are both responses to frustration and exhaustion . . . . I myself prefer to laugh, since there is less cleaning up to do afterward." - Kurt Vonnequt Jr

""Good advice is often annoying - bad advice never is"

"When life seems just a dreary grind; and things seem fated to annoy; say something nice to someone else and watch the world light up with joy."

"Interruptions can be viewed as sources of irritation or opportunities for service, as moments lost or experience gained, as time wasted or horizons widened. They can annoy us or enrich us, get under our skin or give us a shot in the arm. Monopolize our minutes or spice our schedules, depending on our attitude toward them." - William Arthur Ward

Sometimes ranting helps to smother the burning flames, other times it enrages the fire and makes it even more strong. Yes you probably have no idea what I'm talking about - neither do I. random thoughts. random talking. random everything. maybe life is just a random act....whatever....

Bleak....

Life is such a bum sometimes....it feels so dark and miserable just like the weather outside. Maybe daylight saving only feels good when there is actually some sunlight. Otherwise, the day just seems to fly by so quickly, especially if by the time one wakes up, its already past noon. 3pm now and haven't done anything productive. Don't know why I'm online. Don't know how to pass the procrastination stage. Don't know how to write my assignments or to study for the exams...feeling so lost and sad...maybe its the thought of procrastinating that leads to the action of procrastinating.

"I have a theory about the human mind. A brain is a lot like a computer. It will only take so many facts, and then it will go on overload and blow up." - Erma Bombeck

How human stupidity leads to embarrassment.....

How should I begin....ok..i'm not a person who usually goes 'red' in the face, nor am I proned to embarrassment!!! But some strange vibes have been hovering above me...two embarrassing events in two consecutive is NOT good!!

Yesterday, had legt lecture...mr zumbo was the lecturer...basically was standing at the door like a guard at the castle stopping everyone who left. this makes him sound sinister..haha. there is only a certain amount of time people should shake hands before it starts to feel uncomfortable....just let go!!

back to my topic of human stupidity. we had to estimate the number of clinical psychologists in some region within NSW. I guess i) i wasn't listening clearly and ii) i must have been thinking about something else. anyway, to emphasise my tendency to be the odd-one-out, i estimated the number to be 1750 when in fact the answer was 230. Its true that you should always stick with your first instincts. Originally, I put 750 (even though that is still outrageously wrong) but decided to stick a '1' in front of 750 in the last second. Being the EXTREME outlier, i managed to score myself a prize for being sooooo optimistic....how bizarre. getting something for being so 'different' and so wrong. To make matters worse it was annouced in the lecture....sometimes I wish I was invisible...

Frustration

Very frustated. The most annoying about writing a psyc report is finding RELEVANT articles...have spent the past 3 days searching - finding NOTHING....feels like I've been so inefficient, wasting so much time!!!

How can other people be so efficient and manage their time so well....very depressing thought!!!

Between week13-week14 - this is my life:
- 1 presentation....in progress
- 2 psyc report....in initial stages
- 3 essays.....yet to be started

Exam period:
- 4 exams...last one on 25th November (if there are no amendments to the final tt)

Water-fall

It's no wonder they don't allow food or drink in the computer lab. Just when I thought I had nothing to blog about this weekend, something happens. I split a glass of water on the desk which 'flood' the base of the monitor. Luckily my CPU was separate and neatly tucked away from potential devastation. On the other hand, my notes and other stuff on the desk were not so lucky. Oh well, guess there's a loss and gain in everything....

Mini Black Friday...

Have been surviving on 4 hours sleep for the past two days. By my standards, that's tough cause I usually have at least 8-9 hours..haha. Great way to begin the day. Had presentation on 9am but before that we had to print off some transparency. The most logical place to go is the library. Where does all our funding go???? The ENTIRE library only had one transparency copier machine - which was OUT OF ORDER!!! I think the reason for the 'out of order' was they ran out of transparency slides...what the??? The only other options were quad store and blockhouse. We only have 5 mins before class started so no way were we going to go blockhouse. We went down to quad store...the guy at the counter said we could use our library copy card - but no..it doesn't work. So G went to buy a copy card with $8 credit - only to find out that we also needed to purchase the transparencies separately - again to which THEY HAD NONE!!!....we gave up in the end...so glad the presentation wasn't counted otherwise it would have been SOOOOO bad...

We stuffed up our experiment big time cause we lefted out a vital step...oh well - we'll just let it be! no time to change, no mood to bother, no motivation to care....

Muddled with time....

I had all the intention of having lunch at 12:45pm as I had uni at 3pm. However I got confused at 12:15pm...suddenly I thought I had class at 2pm. Rushed rushed and rushed...cause I haven't even brushed my teeth. I constantly had the thought I had to leave the house at 12:45 for class at 2!!!!!! Then at the bus stop, waiting the bus, thinking....what the...it struck me again that I don't have class until 3. Oh well, can't be bothered going back home.

HAPPY HAPPY....haha...found my USB lid...instead of on the bed, this time it was under my sis's bed...hmmm.......

The Waiting Game

So much for waking up an hour earlier than usual. I thought I'd go to uni an hour earlier to do some work. But what happened was that I spent that extra hour waiting for the bus!! 7:45...8:00...8:15...8:30....8:45....8:50...finally I see the 303!!!

An hour waiting at the bus stop...so glad I wasn't the only one. One guy had 3 cigarettes before the bus come...the other 2 guys kept on stepping onto the chair and were debating whether the buses they saw coming were 478 or 303. At least there were 'some' entertainment.

An extra week extension for our psyc report!! Yay!!

Lost, found and lost again....

I've been losing things all day today...clear objects are good..but when they become lost - its bad. I'm talking about my USB lid. I put it on the table...I'm so sure I did. Only when I went to retrieve the lid - it was no longer on the table. Did I move it and put it somewhere else?? I don't remember. I still remember seeing it on the table - the picture still vividly clear in my mind - yet its not there anymore. Where could I have put it?? I've done a carpet style search of two rooms. Nothing to be found. But then again, I lost some paper clips earlier in the day. Again did a carpet search. Couldn't find anything until I decided to go for a nap and took the stuff off my bed...haha. Yup there it was!! But no such luck for my current USB lid. It's in the house somewhere..but where?????

Frustration setting in...can't concentrate...am fully procrastinating again!!! If only I could learn how 'not' to procrastinate. I've discovered it's not the internet cause I get nothing done whether I'm on or off. It's not the tv cause despite having chinese tapes on - I'm actually not that interested..haha...who would think there was a day that I would say that!! It's not window media player cause it has no effect on productivity.....so what could it be???

Two more weeks of uni left.....shouldn't be wasting time...but what could I do??? So many rhetorical questions!!! Trying to seek answers...but its kinda like 'playing piano to a cow'. Wouldn't it be nice to wake up in morning and discover the answers to all the questions one has!! Is this inquisitive or avoidant behaviour?? Somehow something from within tells me its the later......

One would think afer 4 years uni, a few lessons would have been learnt. But seriously, I don't think I've learnt much. Still don't know HOW to study, still don't know anything about WHAT I'm studying, still clueless about WHY I'm studying and still as clueless about everything as ever before. They say life is a journey of discovery...discovery of self...discovery of the world. I don't think I've ventured into that territory yet. Well, if anyone has any studying tips or thoughts about life - let me know. I'd like to learn something before the end of uni. I have really no idea what I'm talking about. Too many things to do, too little time...what in the world am I doing here? No idea. No clue. No brain. Enough blabbering from me for the night. If only writing essays and reports were as easy as blogging. If only......

Back...

My late disappearance was due to a technical failure....I couldn't access my own blog. All I could see was a blank page.

Today I played a little cat and mouse game with my parents. They were out in the city and I was out in the city. I couldn't let them catch me...so I took the less travelled route walking from central to circular quay - think it eventually took me a good half hour to get there.

on the way home, i had all the intention of catching the train and bus...but on my way to circular quay station..i saw 303 (my usual uni bus) so decided to catch that instead….didn’t even realise that was where the bus stop was...anyway, the bus that i caught was running like an hour late....

then...half way on the trip there was mechanical failure with the door...it wouldn't close...but luckily the bus tat was running on time was right behind this bus otherwise I would have had to wait another 1 hour before the next bus would come….

Conclusion: Mission accomplished....

Caught on camera...

Today was showcase for D2MG - which is hip hop and breaking - some dance thingy. F was in it so I was assigned the role of the camera holder..haha. Felt a bit like a tripod actually. Luckily there was a chair to support my arm otherwise it would have been one very shaking movie clip. I forgot how to zoom in and out so ended up panning the stage for most of the show. The dancing was very funky and all - definitely not something I could do this life time.

Tkd movie night was so so...lots of pizza but it didn't last too long..haha. Clips from uni games was funny. Thanks for the lift J!

Great night..

Had a very fun time at J's bday party tonight. Much was accomplished. Had pizza, wedges, chips, sausage 'rolls' and chocolate mousse/strawberry cheesecake - the later stuff homemade...very yummy!!!

Listened to karaoke with songs from the 'past', much to V's delight..haha. Thanks J for a great time!! Played uno stacks but I crashed the whole thing two consecutive times!! Not fair - watching is definitely more entertaining then playing the game..haha.

Managed to get everyone there to be my 'victims' for my experiment..haha...so happy about that..glad to get a few laughs from it too!! If any bypassers are interested just leave me a comment and I shall contact you..hahaha...i need participants desperately...so plzzzzz

Confusion

I got a call, thinking it was someone...and the person on the line thought i was someone else...

it went something like this:

Me:'hey, where are you?'
Person: 'at home'
Me:'huh'? who are you?
Person:'sorry got wrong number'

only then did it register in my mind that I was talking to the wrong person....i didn't even have to time apologise cause I think I sounded a bit 'angry'??...haha

ooohh wells...confusions happen...

Tired

Been very tired for the past couple of days. Today wasn't very adventurous. Collected some debt...and ended up being the one in debt cause I didn't have any change. How tide changes...haha.

Strange lunch/afternoon tea combination - chocolate mousse cake..followed by fish and chips...nonetheless it was quite nice!

Big Fi !!!!

Went back to Tiffany and Co this arvo because F needed to change the size of the ring - she needed an upgrade from size 5 to size 7! Hence BIG Fi!!! Funny funny. The size 6 ring slided in without too much effort but she couldn't take it off...tugged and tugged until the finger was red!!

THIS is dedicated to you F!!

OH!! For anyone wanting to get F an engagement or wedding ring - remember size 5 is the right size!!

Wednesday, October 05, 2005

Veery tired

Have you ever spent a lot of time on a piece of work - or more like a group presentation and received a not so satisfying mark? Just the time and effort placed into it was far more than average especially by F and V.

Bloody bus driver!!!

How often do I skip psyc classes? Hardly never. How often am I late? Hardly never. How often have I been to Surry Hills??? Never.

But today, I did all three!!!! All because of the bloody bus AND truck driver. What happened was the bus stopped at mascot to drop off passengers and this truck in the next lane drove super close to the bus - so much so that it knocked off the side mirror of the bus! Bus driver was like he's not going anywhere so we had to get off. Ok, that's understandable so I'm not annoyed with that driver.

So I waited at the bus stop for the next bus to take me to uni. 301 came so I got onto the bus. I explicitly asked the driver whether or not he would go past uni and he said yes. So I went on. The first half of the trip was ok - taking the same route as my usual bus. But once into Eastlake it took a different route - I didn't recognise the streets, I was LOST!! Looked frantically around for street signs, hoping that I would recognise a street or suburb. Not until 20min or so later did I realise I was in Surry Hills. I've actually always wanted to go to Surry Hills cause apparently there's some nice restaurants there. But this was NOT how it was meant to be!!!!

I stayed on the bus until I was on elizabeth st and got off there. headed down to world square cause F requested some food from bread top....haha. my budget was $5 and i managed to spend $4.60. Actually didn't even looked at the price when i was choosing the buns - just took whatever..

finally caught the bus back to uni for my group meeting - which i was half an hour late. annoying and frustrated when the actual event was occuring. finding it funny how things happen when looking back at it retrospectively.

Thx F...very nice and sweet!!!

Happy day!

Finally one big happy family once agin!! Happy...lots of goodies...

Great to hear from ya A...realised its been ages since we last chat!! I'm ready for (almost) any adventure at the end of the year so count me in!!

Back to uni tmr...not so happy....

HAPPY BDAY F!!!

"You're thought about more often than you probably can guess, and thoughts of you just naturally bring smiles of happiness. Now, that it's your birthday, may each and every warm thought, bring a wish for all the best in life, and all your favourite things."

Three cheers!!

Happy!!

That sums up how I'm feeling now. Happy today, happier tomorrow. Only one more sleep!! YIPPEE!!

"No not really, it is just like real life. Not everyday you are happy and not everyday you are sad." - Dakota Fanning

I NEED to concentrate but can't. But then again that's nothing new. I've been like this all holidays - or is it all semester!!

A bit of trivia:
There are 25 member countries in the European Union. The founding nations were Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg and Netherlands.

This is how you say 'hello' in the following languages:
French - Bonjour
German – Guten Tag
Dutch - Hallo
Polish - Dzien' dobry

Was searching for 'world peace' and one of the results led me to http://www.sadako.org/

I remember reading 'Sadako and a Thousand Paper Cranes' in high school - was a very moving book. If memory serves me right, there was a time when I did actually want to fold a thousand paper cranes but don't think the target was ever achieved or even came close to it...How to fold a paper crane:

I just spent the last half hour trying to fold a paper crane. It seems different to how I once learnt it. oh well. at least it is now complete. yay! my first crane in almost 10 years!! this site is slightly more easier to follow!

Dream...

Had a dream last night about...yes...the water jar that broke yesterday. Call me strange or whatever. I have an identical one at home but I think I just loved that particular one so much... Well, everyone has their own favourite novelties...haha.

I found out how much I don't like grocery shopping. Usually if I go with mum it's her that makes the decision as to what to buy, what's fresh and what's not. But when you actually have to make the decisions yourself its a whole different story. Even if you think the fruits look fresh at the shop, you take it home and realise that it's not as good as you thought it was. Maybe I'm just inexperienced..haha.

Oh wells, another half a day gone. I think I'm slowly getting to like driving which is good news for me. Assuming I'm not faced with road rage or any accidents, things should be ok. My next goal is a drive down wollongong next holidays!!

I want...

The world's most technically advanced car can see at night what the human eye cannot. GREG KABLE tests the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class and has an enlightening experience from SMH

Bad vibes...

There are days where things happens and you can tell that it would be a good day. Other times things happen and you know that its going to be a bum! Today is one of those heavy, dreary days.

What was meant to be a wonderful week turned out to be horrible one with everyone getting sick. I wish I could have been there to give them a hug. Missing them so much!!

Things happen and maybe you can say I'm superstituous. After talking to them, my dad was refilling the glass water jug and 'pop' the base broke. Anything breaking following some not so happy news always rings 'bad' in my mind. Basically the entire jug was intact except for the base...the way it broke was rather strange..and that was my favourite one!! I hope nothing else bad happens. Can't really concentrate today. So restless....so concerned...so wish everything is fine!!!

Hate sleeping!!!

Ok. I love it but I hate it!! I missed 2 calls last night cause I was sleeping - I didn't even stir at the sound of my phone!!! Never knew I was such as deep sleeper! Apparently my dad was 'trying' to wake me up but guess it only succeeded after the phone stopped ringing!! What's more annoying was I tried to call them back but there was no answer. Tried another number, still no answer. Tried again this morning. Still no answer!!! Frustrated at myself for sleeping!! If only they called again....

Not good. I think I may be getting sick....been sneezing all morning....ahhhhh-choo!!!

Mobile reception with Telstra hasn't been so good lately. Seems to be always searching for network or have poor reception...maybe a sign to change network or phone or maybe both...

I never knew that you could get discounts when you buy those prepaid international calling cards!! Cool stuff!!

5 more days of holidays left. Minus 3 days for other plans. Leaves 2 days for work. Minus another 2 days for procrastination. Hmmm....that doesn't leave me with any time at all!!! I wonder why plans don't ever work out for me! Too much expectation or not persistent enough??

Muddled...

I'm getting so muddled up with the months. This morning I thought it was October so I ripped the September calendar page out. My dad was like 'what are you doing?' and I was like 'its october'!!...isn't it??...

Speaking of which I just realised I told a friend that daylight saving will begin on the 30th of 'this' month. Obviously I was thinking it was October AGAIN!!! Yeeeeeks!!!

Maybe it's cause I really want October to come. October 3rd to be precise. A great day. A happy day. A day I'm longing for!!! I'll be on cloud nine!!! Why??

1) It's labour day - an extra day of holidays
2) F's bday - a super human was born on that day
3) Family REUNION - the creation of families is one of nature's masterpieces

A very small world....

I just have to blog this....cause I find it really funny! This is how it all began. Was introduced to ICQ in probably year 11 and started talking to all these people I didn't know. Basically my list was obtained from J. People disappeared from ICQ post-hsc so never really talked to icq people after that. I actually have no recollection of putting my blog address on my icq profile!!

Four years later, I started blogging, stopped for a short period of time and resumed it very recently. My blogging interest came back to me because of F's bday. There was actually something INTERESTING I could talk about. I got one of F's friend's contact and he got together his group of friends for the lunch.

Among this group of friends of one of the people I use to talk to on ICQ. The bizarre thing was I found out the night after dinner and he found out when he was cleaning his icq list by checking history and this blog! Its just funny how things happen....this world is large, yet so small....

Buffet!!

Novotel Brighton buffet is so much better than Mercure Hotel. Basically the prawns and oysters were a lot more fresher and they did refills at regular intervals too! So it was never 'out of stock'. Dessert-wise - the sticky date pudding was really nice...the others were passable. Hot food was most disappointing because there wasn't much of a selection but the cold food made up for it. The green pasta was good. They also had smoked salmon, smoked mussels, ham, turkey, salami, fish and some other stuff. Glad we did a little stroll on the way home. Stomach still feeling bloated cause I think I ate a bit TOO much!! It was definitely worth it especially with the newspaper coupons

Ready, Steady, Cook

OMG!!!! Very surprised. I just saw my tutor on the show 'Ready, Steady, Cook'!!! The funny thing was we had her only for one lesson and that was right before the holidays. I guess I recognised the name more than the face!! But yeah, its amazing where people appear and what they do!!

Musical thoughts...

Suddenly feel like picking up my piano playing again. Was playing today and realised how much I have deteriorated in terms of my skills!! One day I wish I could hold a mini concert, being able to play Liszt, Beethoven, Debussy, and Rachmaninov!! I don't think that day will come cause I will need at least 10 years solid practice to take it back up to performance level!! Just a little thought lingering in the back of my mind.

Would love to get a grand piano one day..steinway and sons would be nice...haha. Must be the karaoke - waking up my musical cells inside me from its deep sleep. Want to learn to sing (even though that is even harder than performance level piano since I don't have a singing voice and I know I won't have the courage to take singing lessons)!!! Want to learn to play the violin too!! But then again, who's going to accompany me on the piano?? So many things I could imagine myself doing. But none that could be put into practice in the near future!!

Day out!

geez...maybe the blogging break has actually been detrimental than good! I'm updating both this site and xanga now - obviously with very similar content if not the same. i think i'm just gonna copy and paste the content so whoever prefers xanga can read xanga or this. i'm just creating more procrastination time - yeah why not - not gonna make much of a difference..haha. it's not that i don't have any work to do but it's just that.....i've got much to say about nothing! ok, this is not making sense.

anyways, i got a sms from F saying 'sorry, i'm not coming today'. seriously, i was kinda expecting it but then again!!! called her up and said she MUST come regardless hence i had to spill the beans that 'i have something planned'...now how annoying was that. keeping it a secret and then having to wreak the suprise literally hours before it was due to happen!!!! ANNOYED ANNOYED ANNOYED

thinking that the shops opened at 10:00 i got out to the city around 10:30. Realised it was a sunday and that most don't open their doors until 11am! Walked around town hall until then and got the card. Then walked to circular quay to get the cake with S! Headed back to town hall and made our way to thai foon. on the way, realised that i had forgotten candles!! but luckily m was around town hall and got them for us!! I must say everyone was LATE except for J! Good on ya!..hehe. This means my most important lesson learnt today is that: whenever you are planning a get together, make sure you tell people the time an HOUR EARLIER then it is suppose to. So that things actually start ON TIME!

I guess the food at thai foon was ok. the servings were a bit small and surprisingly, the food was not too spicy. somehow i think they left out on some of our orders!!! hm.....and I KNEW IT I KNEW IT I KNEW THE RING WOULDN'T FIT!!!! Why? Because everytime I buy her something, we always need an exchange and the same happen when she gets me stuff as well!...haha...that still hasn't changed!! I hoped everyone enjoyed lunch and was not too bored!!

half the people opted out of karaoke after lunch! but i went karaoke afterwards at greenbox. was ok not too bad. after rejecting a couple of places for dinner, we ended up at east oceans. service was very good. food was ok. moneywise - considered pricey!

what happened on the train. the train stopped at domestic terminal (i think it was) and one police was 'running' through our carriage. another one was outside - obviously 'looking' for someone. we were thinking 'omg is there a bomb on the carriage'? but luckily nothing happened. or more that we got off the train before anything happened. finally, got a lift from f's dad!! thx for that!! Now feeling very tired!!....time to sleep!....zzzzzzzzzzzzz

New Change

Ok...I'm back again. My longest break from blogging. Nine days to be exact. In a way, I didn't really miss it. But guess habits are hard to change isn't it??

Decided it was time for a change. Starting to get bored of the old layout.

Kinda excited and scared about what will happen today. I planned a surprise bday lunch for F. Actually, the more I think about it, the worse I think it's been planned. Too many people not knowing other people. I don't want anyone to feel ostracised. Very bad feeling. Too late to change anything. Should have asked more people. Actually I only realised I left some people out (unintentionally) last night - sorry - I guess my mind was in a mess!!

All I can hope for is that F will turn up and everyone gets along with each other. If not, I think I will have a horrible day!! Hate it when people are not happy (esp. if its due to my making)....maybe this will be my last bday planning if things turn sour. Very stressful. Very worrying and very scary. What if people don't really get along? What if people feel left out? What if it was one bad mistake? What if I 'gow chut yat gor dai tao fut'?? I don't know what to do!!

What happened the previous day:
Dilemma started when I got to the city. what should I get F? Ok, first stop was martin place. made a detour cause I was on the wrong street before finding Tiffany and Co. Went in - looked around. Actually felt a bit intimidated. Anyway, thinking about the budget I had, I couldn't afford many of those rings.

Headed down to centrepoint to george jensen, swarkowski, myer, DJ, QVB. Still couldn't find one that caught my eye without burning a even bigger hole in my empty wallet . With the help of more funding from R, went back to Tiffanys. I don't know - found the people upstairs nicer and more approachable than the ones on the ground floor.

I was undecided between 3 designs. The heart, a band with flower engraved and open wave (the one I ended up buying). Literally, right after handing over the cash, got message from S saying she just finished work...haha. Met her at centrepoint and went back at Tiffanys to show her the one I got. A sigh of relief when she said it was good. I was a bit paranoid by the doorman who, I felt had bad attitude. Twice I went in and out and he didn't say anything. But when he saw me holding the Tiffany bag he goes 'have a nice day'.....Btw, thx for the hot choc S!!...hehe

Then caught the bus back to uni to have a photo with V since it was her graduation. Bought her a little teddy...went home at 5...booked to have buffet at Mercure Hotel near the airport for 6:30 dinner. Can't say much about the buffet cause the food wasn't that food. most of the dishes were a bit bland. although there were sydney rock oysters, some didn't looked that fresh and the prawns were not that good either. basically, we won't be going back there again.

So, what was at the buffet?? Tandoori chicken, hokkein noddle, prawn, oysters, crab, salmon, seafood salad, cream mushroom penne, lentils, pasta salad and dessert. wasn't much of a selection and couldn't even find tea or coffee.

what a day!!

Loss of motivation

i'm considering putting this site into the freezer for the time being because i've lost the motivation to blog. i don't know why. maybe i'll revive it later if it suddenly comes back to me again. so maybe once in a while there will be new postings. so don't throw away the link...check it once in a blue moon and who knows there maybe some little surprises!! things changes i guess - people, thoughts, outlooks and goals - they all change eventually. i just never thought that i'll stop blogging so early on. it hasn't even been a year or shall i say just past half a year. i still remember those days where i'd be checking the site ten times a day and do multiple postings. maybe its cause i'm getting old. loss the spark, the energy! i feel like i'm writing my last words here...haha..hope not.

anyways, in the meantime hope everyone is having a great time doing whatever they are doing...good luck with everything! I'll still be on msn and my inbox will always welcome any sort of emails...of course assuming its not a virus or porn! :p

and...HAPPY MOON FESTIVAL!!!

Crazy bus driver

My trip home took 15 mins tonight cause the driver was definitely not keeping to the speed limit. Quick but bumpy ride.

It is now three people who have thought my name was 'Grace'....maybe I should consider changing my name!!

Was in the library...decided to find a computer to search for a book. the computers on level 3 didn't work and didn't want to wait for the queue so went up to the computers on level 4 near the lifts. behind me, i heard some people talking about 'sony ericson'. that got me interested cause I was curious about any info on mobile phones and stuff. funnily enough, i thought one of the voices sounded familiar. turned around and realise it was my friend.

Dangerous world

Heard two separate instances today. One that occurred 4 weeks ago. One today.

One friend got mugged in Kingsford when walking home after 9pm lecture. Three guys surrounded him. Had knives and demanded his mobile phone and keycard.

Another friend got her wallet stolen in the quad store.

So people, do take care!!

More number plates

Another interesting number plate I saw was 'LINDT'...yup the chocolate one!!

Contemplating whether or not I should go to TKD bbq on saturday. It's either that or studying for accounting mid-session which is on wednesday. Tough choice. Tempted to go bbq but at the same time if I do go I know I will feel really guilty...hmmm....

Two more gruelling weeks before the so-called 'holiday'. I can foresee most of the holiday will be spent reading stuff on European Union. Yup - a very interesting holiday reading topic!! Why I am already talking about the holidays I don't know. Maybe cause I want a break - even though I really have been bludging for the past 8 weeks of uni. But still.....

It's funny how this blog entry is more prospective then retrospective. A change is good nonetheless!!

Exercise

My attempts of exercising have been successful for the first weekend. Yesterday achieved slightly more - treadmill (10 mins) and running (for 2 mins) plus beach walking for 40min. Felt so good after the workout. Today was treadmill (8 mins) and boxing (5 mins). Okay it's probably not a lot but at least I'm doing something..yay!! But it seems that's all I have accomplished all weekend - which isn't much to brag about. seriously, I 'wished' I did more work. Each week more work piles and I slip further and further behind!

Happy bday M!

Best wishes!! It's a day that noone can forget!! Hope you had a wonderful time and didn't spend it studying!

Done

Handed in assignment at 10am. What do you do when you don't have class on a friday? Of course you won't go home and study - the best option is going shopping. As I was going through the M5 I swear that truckie was trying to scare me just cause I'm a P-plater. He was right on the my tail. If I suddenly stepped on the brake there would no doubt be a horrible crash!!

But all was well. Nothing very interesting at hurstville. So didn't stay for too long. Definitely in no mood to work at the moment. Feel like going on a little holiday....

Break

No health tut today so that meant two hours free!! What did I do?? Went to watch F 'train' in sparring (tae-kwon-do). Quite fascinating...man she can kick ass alright!! I don't think I can ever do that. I'm so inflexible!! Also played piano on an old grand...haha. Think it's been half a year since I last touched a piano. I hate it when I can't even remember one whole song!! Blaming it on lack of practice and poor memory...

Always remember to save your work in the RIGHT drive!

We were doing group assignment this arvo..I opened an attachment from my email and group members started adding to it. The work was saved so no drama about that, but because the file was opened as an attachment, the saved document was on a temporary file. So what ever you do, do not close the file unless you are sure you saved it on C drive or on a disk. What happened was the file was closed and when we tried to recover it, but it was lost. It is extremely frustrating!! But glad V had good memory and re-typed the bulk of the thing out again! 'phew'....

Funny how people make comments for other people. On the bus I inserted the ticket into the machine - not quite - it fell onto the floor and the bus driver went 'whoops'...that kind of puzzled me a bit. Shouldn't I be saying that instead?

Boring

Yes..I have realised that my blog has been rather boring for the past couple of weeks. I seem to have lost the 'flair' in blog writing these days. Possibly its attributable to the lack of exciting events in life. There's not really much you can say about going uni, coming home, day in, day out. Hopefully things will liven up in the near future with the holidays approaching. But even then, holidays won't be so much of a holiday since there will be heaps of stuff to catch up on as well as assignments to do. Nevertheless, it's still no uni for a week. Which in a way, I foresee it as been even more avaliable procrastination time. And no, my plan of decreasing net time never happened. I'm still working on that aspect at the moment.

Gathering

Had lunch with the St Georgians at Kingsford. Good to catch up! Ah..most people going be overseas...I've whinged about it before. Won't do it again - even though I think I just did. Oh well. I thought tae kwon do was a bit dry today but still a workout is better than none. Better start cracking on my work now...things piling up!!

Happy Father's Day!!

Even though I know that no fathers would read this...just wanna wish all the wonderful fathers in the world a HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!

Just another ordinary day...

Nothing much really happened today. So I won't even bother writing what I did. The usual - class, waiting for bus, going home.

Some funky number plates I saw these past few days:
"KIBBLE", "MYGEN3", "BUBBLE", "NOISY"....maybe I'll expand on the list later!

Its strange how things become a habit...have you ever worn jewellery for a while and you take it off but you still have the feeling that it's still there. And when you start to fiddle with it you realise that you were not wearing it? That's kinda what I've been doing all day...

Another friday...another week gone!!

Tired

Had two group meetings today - both actually were quite productive surprisingly...went shopping for father's day present but didn't end up finding anything suitable. the only real bargain around town at the moment is probably at rebel sports - 80% of all fenech boxing equipment!!

Spring!!

A beautiful spring morning!! A bit cool but nice and refreshing. Welcoming spring with both arms!! A new day, a new season....don't know why I suddenly felt cheery..maybe cause I can finally get back on track. I think I'm gonna start curbing my net time so I can concentrate on uni for the next 3 months!! Need to desperately catch up with my falling behind! I think I'll still be blogging but hopefully my procrastination time will decrease. Also thinking of spending on more time boosting my cardio fitness. This sounds too far surreal!!...Lets see if I can do it...will keep you all updated!...haha.

Cardiovascular fitness

Made an astonishing discovery in health psyc today. Apparently, people with good cardiovascular fitness perform better in memory and learning tasks. So maybe my poor memory is not about premature aging..but more along the lines - i'm so lazy and unfit!! I MUST DO MORE CARDIOVASCULAR EXERCISE to improve my memory!!

hmm...I should take heed to this advice. But my fitness motivation is not that high....

Memory failure...

I had a scare today. Memory failure. I forgot my email password - a total blank!! I was freaking out (well not really) because it was one of the emails that I check everyday!! It wasn't one of those where I only check once in the blue moon! Can't believe my memory is already deteriorating. I know my memory wasn't good in the first place but memory loss at this time is a bit too early in life isn't it?

Money!

Why does everything have to be about money!! My dream for the next couple of months is to win the lottery! Most of my friends are all going overseas at the end of the year - or have or will go sometime in the near future - except for me!! Everyone's been asking. Of course I want to tag along but I have limited financial resources. So if I suddenly win the lottery then YIPPEE!! off I go to see the wizard!! But somehow I think that dream of mine will be very slim....

monday is usually a good day. apart from mid-sem today, it was generally ok! Finally caught up with J and V for lunch! Afterwards, walked to all the computer labs in the quad but still couldn't find MS. Oh well. Despite the unproductive 3 hours prior to tae-kwon-do, training was good! Maybe cause that's the only time during the entire week that I get off my back-side and do something good for my heart!! Free bus trip on the way home cause the driver just said 'go in and take a seat'!

Irrational

Have you done something that was irrational? Very ridiculous and stupid! Something that you thought was ok at that particular point in time but then when you think back, you kinda go to yourself - What the?? Did I really do that? Thinking back to some events long time ago, I wonder what in the world I was thinking. Guess there are no second chances for some lost opportunities. I was such an idiot. But then, everyone is an idiot at some point of time right?...haha.

This is a tale told by an idiot,
Full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.

Those particular lines from Macbeth just came to my mind as I was typing.

Enough of my ridiculous thoughts....Please spread the word around... "Delicious Cake Shop" just opened in Lane Cove Plaza, Shop 9 Burns Bay Road, Lane Cove. It's got some awesome looking cakes!! I would post up some of the cakes but I was camera deficient at the time. Sometimes I really wish I had a camera to capture some amazing pictures!! Guess this is the closest I could get to a picture..a picture from the card of the shop..haha

Hitch...

Definitely a great hilarious romantic comedy! Highly recommend it if you want to have a good laugh. Have mid-session on monday so my outing today did not quite justify my actions. Not like I would have done much if I stayed at home anyway! Also went to my cousin's grand opening cake shop in Lane Cove. Never realised that Lane Cove was so close to St. Leonards/Chatswood. Had nice dinner too! Going out an entire day is so entiring. Maybe cause I'm not use to it cause I don't got out often enough!!

Uni

Uni at 9am is quiet. The breeze is cool, classroom is empty. Its kinda funny. Everywhere I've been going these two days have been pretty empty. Maybe I'm feeling a bit empty too! Our group meeting was changed from 9 to 11am. But I still decided to rock up at 9am. Don't ask why. I don't know. I feel I don't know many things these days. So many questions, so little answers. Wonder what it would be like if you can read a person's mind for a day. Would that be too overwhelming? Too much of an invasion of privacy? Haha...seriously, I don't know what I'm saying. Maybe cause looking at this flickering computer screen has played havoc with my mind. Eyes drying up, head beginning to hurt. All this happening and its only the beginning of the day. Wonders wonders...why is it that I can crap on so liberally on something that doesn't make sense or isn't important? why is it that I take so long to write up an assignment? It's still just typing and formulating sentences isn't it?? Well gotta go to group meeting now so I should stop typing. But really, I'm actually enjoying talking about nothing. For some strange reason, trivial matters are more interesting than serious ones. Or is it just a matter of escape. Escaping from reality.....

Appreciating nature

Stepping off the bus, I headed down towards the beach. I don't know why I did. Usually I would head straight home. Maybe cause the water looked so calm, so serene. The beach was empty. Literally. No people. No litter. The sand was clean. The water was blue. You could hear the water lapping - ever so gently. Just sitting down and soaking up the atmosphere was refreshing. But it was getting cold so I didn't stay for long. Just sitting. Just staring. Just thinking...

Weary Wednesday...

Some trivial instances:
- in each of the first two lectures, the person behind me dropped their highlighter - same brand, just different colour near me
- bumped into B at lunch
- phone call from V trying to confuse me!! >_<
- phone call from mum thinking I was someone else
- boring monotonic seminar presentations
- sardine packed train ride

Close call...

Before you hop into a car, make sure you walk around it to make sure there are no obstructions or blockages. That is one lesson I learnt today. If I was not driving and hence walked to the boot of the car to get out my P plates, I think our car may have exploded. Which probably would have meant I wouldn't be here blogging.

Getting out the P-plates, I noticed a blue plastic thing under the car. It wasn't one of the ordinary shopping bags but the thicker, bulkier type of plastic. Bending down, what I saw was the plastic covering the entire exhaust pipe. Luckily, the heat must have melted part of the plastic so the pipe itself was not blocked completely! That also meant that the plastic was stuck to the pipe and the bottom of the car. We pulled and managed to get most of the plastic off. If we hadn't notice the plastic or what was covering the exhaust pipe was a cloth or something that wouldn't have melted I think the result may have been very different.

Addiction...

Silently SCREAMING!!!!!

My blogging and net addiction have not slowed. In fact I think it might actually be getting worse. I've have been receiving so many complaints that people can't phone through cause I'm consistently on the internet. The consequence of dial-up! Its getting extremely frustrating as I am consistently on whenever I'm at home. Can't get any work done!! Too much useless stuff on my mind..Self control is what I need...

Monday...

Boring title...yup I know. Not feeling very creative.

Got out of the house. Windy and cold - waited for 20 minutes but no bus came so had to walk home and ask for a lift. It's funny how it's these little things that make you 'bump' into people. As I was walking past the library, head down, not really thinking, I saw a girl waving. Took me a sec to realise she was waving to me! Whoops, my delayed reaction again Sorry!..haha. Speaking of which, my extremely delayed reaction reminds me of events that happened 365 days ago....haha.

Had lunch with V and C. Spent a good ten minutes pondering over a word puzzle in the blitz! Anyways, spent a few hours in the library. So sleepy!!!!! It's so hard trying to keep my eyes open! TKD was good this arvo. All those sit ups and crunches...didn't feel it until I got home. Now have sore arms and legs. Must have been because I didn't stretch properly!!

Tired

Despite having more than 10 hours of sleep, still feeling very tired and still lacking in concentration. The idea of sleeping early and waking up early didn't happen. Instead it was sleep early and wake up late. Oh well. That's what weekends are for anyway!!

Nostalgia

My current feeling: nostalgia

Defined as dwelling on the past. Symptoms included extreme apathy, an inability to concentrate, excessive physical fatigue, a feeling of isolation and total frustration leading to a general inability to function.

I must say there is definitely a contention between procrastination and nostalgia. Both are as annoying and useless. Yet I have not found a cure for either of the two 'disease'. I call it a disease because its always lurking in the back of the mind. Constantly striking without warning. It's cold and harsh - having a mind of its own.

It's funny in a way...I have such bad memories for some things and good memories for others. Ah wells, the saying that 'once the ship reaches the head of the bridge, it will be straight' could be used here...haha...the last time I heard that saying was from 'My Family'. I remember finding it very annoying because it was said so many times.

Hopefully a bright new chapter will begin on the 1st December when uni is all over!!! Can't help thinking how nice it will be when I can finally say I've finished uni and can do other stuff!! At least by then I won't feel like I'm falling behind because 'someone' else is already 2 steps ahead of me after getting their graduate diploma!! Let the good times roll....
