I find it rather funny! I thought I would get bored of blogging after a couple of days...but I think it's actually become an addiction of some sort..seems like I've become a blog addict :p despite the fact not many people read it...its become a portal where I can escape from work and the worrys in life - not that I have any :D
Writing about things seem a lot more easy than talking about it...da di da di da....
There shall be much to write about over the next couple of weeks...well maybe not since mid-semester exams are approaching. We'll see :p

DILEMMA
HELP!!! what do you give 4 year old boys as their birthday present???? price b/n $30-50..suggestions??
Passed
Yippee! Finally got my green p's within a month of my red ones expiring. Such a relief! But why did I get charged $62?? I thought it was only $32??...
Feels good to be out of the house even though it was only to hurstville!...
Considering an investment in a laser printer...Brother HL2040 Mono Laser Printer...The officeworks guy said he recommended that one cause you could buy the toner and drum separately and is economically viable, quality and speed pretty good - the only downside I read from reviews was that the paper tended to curl....any suggestions/recommendations??

Am I in the right career path??
The career personality quiz:
"Don't let the name fool you, "conventional" types are far from ordinary. In fact, as a member of this group, you may have extraordinary organizational skills, among other things. According to the Holland codes, you show an interest in keeping things in order and keeping track of data. (Can you say math whiz?) With your attention to detail and math skills you may be well-suited for a career in accounting, banking or running your own business."
Career personality quiz
Well I guess I am following the right path at the moment with accounting...maybe I'll own my own business later on...*dreaming* :p

Fortune Cookie
My fortune cookie for today:
"Learn how to be grateful for all gifts that come your way."
"Learn how to be grateful for all gifts that come your way."
Why?
Why is it so hard for me to stay away from the internet? No one else seems to have this problem...its rather un-nerving and frustrating!! Any recommendations? Oh by the way, I've tried switching off the pc, going to another room, unplugging the modem - but there seems to be no successful solution thus far...
ICQ5
Thanks to Vicks I've discovered a new novelty in life - for the time being!
Its ICQ5 - pretty cool emoticons, can now play games including pool and make own status messages! So DOWNLOAD it if you interested and TALK TO ME!! :p
To tell the truth I don't think I felt any difference with the end of daylight - I meant that I probably just slept an extra hour but it really made no difference. I'm going to miss the sunlight!

END OF DAYLIGHT SAVINGS!!!
Don't forget to turn your clocks back one hour tonight before you sleep - otherwise you're going to miss out on the extra hour of sleep!
I'm going to miss daylight saving because everything is going to be dark so early in the day. Why can't we have daylight saving for the entire year? It's a pity!

Obsolete
'Practice makes perfect' is so true. Played the piano today after leaving it to rust for a long time. Fingers were so rigid and stiff! Just glad I can still sight-read...barely.

You are 'Gregg shorthand'. Originally designed to
enable people to write faster, it is also very
useful for writing things which one does not
want other people to read, inasmuch as almost
no one knows shorthand any more.
You know how important it is to do things
efficiently and on time. You also value your
privacy, and (unlike some people) you do not
pretend to be friends with just everyone; that
would be ridiculous. When you do make friends,
you take them seriously, and faithfully keep
what they confide in you to yourself.
Unfortunately, the work which you do (which is
very important, of course) sometimes keeps you
away from social activities, and you are often
lonely. Your problem is that Gregg shorthand
has been obsolete for a long time.

For those chocolate lovers out there...
An interesting article from SMH - probably helps us to feel a little less guilty, so ENJOY! :p
"Australians are the number one consumers of chocolate Easter eggs in the world. But we are only 14th in terms of overall chocolate consumption. Australians consume only 4.4 kilograms of chocolate a head per year, compared with 10.3kg by the Swiss."

Time for a little change
Just thought I'd change the layout of the chatterbox...the newest posts are now at the top - but I'm sure you've worked that out! :D Also changed the comments posting to haloscan - more user friendly - which I discovered on Lola's site - thanks! :p Sorry, the old postings are gone but now you can write even more comments!! :D
Have no idea why I'm still stuck at home when it's such a nice sunny day! I so want to go out - but then again, I so cannot be bothered!
Why shorter posts? I guess its cause nothing interesting has been happening and I'm sure everyone will be bored with my complaints about life and my daily menial tasks!

Holidays!!
Yippee..the holidays finally begin!!
I'm just gonna share with you two of the motivations quotes from U-lead today...
"Deep down even the most hardened criminal is starving for the same thing that motivates the innocent baby: Love and acceptance" - Lily Fairchilde
"People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily". - Zig Ziglar
Well hope everyone is having a great time doing whatever they're doing! I'm off to enjoy a nice dinner to celebrate the beginning of the holidays! :p

The other side of the coin...
Not happy - have trouble concentrating again! :(

In your eyes, people see shards of ice
everywhere... You are cold and distant, pushing
away people that love you and truely care for
you! You want to be able to reach out and love
them but... You can't for some reason... You're
just too.... You :P Underneath that cold
exterior lies a warm, happy soul that wants to
let loose and have fun! Your sanctuary would
probably be anywhere up high where you can look
down on life below you, like the roof of an
apartment building... Your eyes resemble a
saddened, crestfallen person seeking out
attention, but doesn't know how to handle it.
However, you do find comfort from your friends,
they're always there for you, and they know the
REAL you :) Even though you do seem rather
cold, you can be very protective over something
you truely believe in or love. Let go of that
"tough" rep and just be you! It's
impossible to live life without some fun and
love ^-^

Daydreaming
a rather quiet day - had 'lunch' with MTF and Viv...came home - procrastinated, opened textbook and did a bit of daydreaming...

You are a spring. You are very mellow most of the
time except for the caffine season (which is
year round) but you are also a very nice
person. When people tick you off though God
better save them. lol You are a fairly
socialable person because people know you won't
get mad too easy or seem to.

PROOF!
I have proof to support my premature 'news' from SMH!
"Emergency services brace for wild weather - Emergency services are on standby tonight as wild storms build off the NSW coast. Conditions have forced Sydney Ferries to cancel services while winds are expected to reach 100kmh by 11pm (AEDT) tonight."We're not expecting the heaviest winds to come through the Sydney metropolitan area until 11pm tonight, that's when we may get these odd gusts getting up over the 100kmh mark."
Well maybe the timing was a bit off - but still :)

Surprised
Not the best of days for a careers fair cause it was all cold and wet. Well actually stuffy inside Scientia cause there were so many people! Had a pleasant surprise today with AC turning up at the fair. Totally unexpected but good to catch up - with a couple of other people as well! :p
Got a free shower in the rain on our way to the bus-stop after lecture. Umbrellas don't work very well. Next time I'm not sitting backwards on a bus...the feeling aint so good! Let's see if there will be gale force winds plus down-pour after 9pm tonight - so I was told!
Time for a nice hot chocolate now!! :p

Presentation horror!
Had a 'lead the class discussion' or so-called presentation that kinda put me off-guard and left me rambling about...well nothing really - at least my other group members seemed quite prepared and comfortable about it all! I was stumped - stumbling over my words! I was thinking it was just going to be an ordinary presentation that would be over in 5 mins...but it actually went for over half-an-hour....got to prepare for another in week 7 - save me MTF! Did I say how much I hated presentations???

Don't worry and live longer
An interesting article from SMH - here's a snippet:
"Having a laid-back attitude to life can help you live to be 100, researchers have found. "It's not about avoiding stress," Dr Power said. "It's more about how people respond to stress that is key. They are people who don't dwell on the past. They just get on with it, basically." Other traits common to the centenarians in the study were a sense of humour, a strong work ethic, engaging personality and deep religious beliefs."And they were doers. They were not people who spent a lot of time sitting around."
Hmm....time for reflection...
Oh, here's another good article about laughing :D
"A daily dose of laughter may be good for the heart because, like exercise, it makes blood vessels work more efficiently, United States researchers reported on Monday. Depression, on the other hand, can raise the risk of dying from heart failure, a separate study found. "We don't recommend that you laugh and not exercise, but we do recommend that you try to laugh on a regular basis. Thirty minutes of exercise three times a week, and 15 minutes of laughter on a daily basis is probably good for the vascular system," Laughter may be almost as helpful as exercise".
Personally, I think it's easier to laugh than to do exercise on a daily basis...haha. So don't forget your daily dose of laughter!!! :D

Concentration
"Concentrating is an art. It requires dedication to the subject matter, regardless of your interest in the material. There is no question that if you are interested in a subject, concentration comes easily. However, if the subject seems boring to you, it will usually be difficult to concentrate, thus you can be easily distracted. One method to help concentrate is to "trick" your mind into being interested in an otherwise potentially boring subject. "
This obviously suggests that the stuff I am trying to do are ultimately BORING!
Other tips provided by the site:
"- Don't procrastinate by watching useless TV programs and old reruns you have seen a dozen times. That goes for computer games and sports as well.
- Don't waste time while you are caught between obligations to your coursework and desires to have fun.
- Plan for time to socialize, but limit those times to special or meaningful events.
- Prioritize your time. What is the most important to you? Make those priorities and stick to them in a regular manner. Your studies should come first.
- Balance your time. Basically it would be best to balance your time among studies, physical exercise and socializing. This does NOT mean equal time among those things, but appropriate times for each.
- Make time for physical exercise at appropriate hours. Keeping in good physical shape will make your brain work better. "
No wonder I can't concentrate! Looks like I am doing all the things that I shouldn't be!! Let's hope tomorrow will be a better day.

If tomorrow never comes
Just curious, if there was no tomorrow, no second chance, would you live life or do anything differently??
Frustration
Everytime when uni starts I'm always distracted by things. Can never seem to concentrate. Been sitting at the computer for the past 3 hours doing absolutely nothing - well almost nothing. It's just one of those times where you feel unmotivated to do anything but think about trivial things. I've tried to stay away from the computer but somehow I end up at the same place within 15 minutes. I think I need to do a reality check. HELPPP!!!! Advice anyone??

More procrastination
Just to make me feel better - at least I've done something tonight! Feeling rather frustrated....

You are the wise and mature one. You are smart and
really adult like. You like to do mellow and
not so rough things. You care about your
friends and family, you usually may not be
violent but if people were to cause any trouble
you will take action. Even if you aren't the
oldest of the group you sure act a lot like it.
You are always there for your friends no matter
what...even if you arent able to do anything to
help. Some special features you would have is
being intelligent with psychology, calm,
mature, and really caring. Your friends would
come to you to speak to about their problems or
if they just need a grown up figure to go see.

Driving
Today I decided to play it safe and drove via the slower, longer route to uni. Last week I was going along the southern cross drive and got honked at - um..lets say one too many times. This time round, the journey was a lot more peaceful. But it looks like I'll need a LOT more practice before I will be game enough to drive on the freeway or by myself!

A pretty ordinary day - just bleak, windy and rainy.
Great night. Haven't talked on the phone for such a long time. Nice long chat. Have to flex my arm muscle now :)

Hip-hop
Watched like 2 minutes of a hip-hop demo at uni. Too bad 'someone' was not doing it despite the begging :p Some people look so good when they are dancing! Ah, if only! I just don't understand how they can support their entire weight on one hand. I can imagine myself falling flat on my face within 2 seconds! Makes me kinda want to try dancing - but then again I doubt that will ever happen since I'm so uncoordinated!
Out of my 4 years of uni life, this is a first! Have you ever had lecturers take the roll during a lecture??? It's understandable for tutorials..but for lectures? Is that a bit extreme or what?

People
Today must be a people's day. Waiting for the bus this morning I saw my next door neighbour. Waiting for the train tonight I saw my piano teacher who I haven't seen for ages - ever since I stopped piano - must be a couple of years now - geez time flies! At the CA Graduate Employment Evening, bumped into a couple of people as well! Freebies-wise was not too bad but was a bit disappointed by the big4 firms..hehe. Oh well, overall a good but tiring day!!!

Boredom
With a 3 hour break, I thought I would do something different and interesting - to attend an Accenture information session. Um...bad choice!! It was so bad, boring and uninteresting that I could not tolerate the 1.5 hours and left after 1 hour! Looks like that's one firm I'll be staying away from...

procrastination
the end of second week uni...time flies even if you're not having fun. the pile of work just keeps getting higher and higher the longer time passes. in the holidays i wanted uni to start and now it's the other way round. i'm starting to miss those care-free weekends. But then again, only another 12 weeks before bliss will come once again.
