Low productivity

Ah...this happens every semester. Always in week 1 you go to yourself, ok..this semester I'll waste less time, spend less time at the computer and work harder!! BUT it NEVER seems to work. Friday went out, Saturday watched tv, Sunday online...

Was meant to finish my health psyc assignment so I could lend the book to Fi...but its not even half completed!! Don't worry, I'll still bring the book tmr but I'll probably need it back asap...

Mornings just seem to slip by so quickly, so silently...you hardly realise its the afternoon if you don't look at the clock. And when the night comes, you dread the following day knowing that the events will be a carbon copy of the previous day...

Legend of Speed

Didn't have much expectation before watching the film. But comparing it to Initial D I think I actually prefer Legend of Speed! Its not a new film but its the first time I've seen it! I can't be bothered writing a review/spoilers but here's one from LoveHK Film



Despite the cheesiness of story and the formulaic Rocky plot, this commercial actioner from Andrew Lau and alter ego Ekin Cheng is an enjoyable, entertaining ride.

Cheng is Sky, a spoiled brat who races cars illegally on HK’s city streets. He receives his comeuppance when his girlfriend Moon (Kelly Lin) dies during an important race with the top underground racer (Simon Yam). When he’s framed for various crimes, Sky flees to Thailand and searches for his dad (Blackie Ko), a legendary racer who disappeared when Sky was just a youngster. Once in Thailand, Sky learns hackneyed life lessons and Karate Kid metaphors which allow him redemption and passage back to HK just in time to win the big race.

If only life were as simple as a BOB production. This is a tried-and-true formula that’s been done to death in Lau and Cheng’s previous Young and Dangerous movies. Nothing new here, just enjoyable commercial fluff which should be enough to please most of the fans. This is a welcome return for Andrew Lau, who brings back some of the stylish verve that he couldn’t use in such earnest epics as A Man Called Hero.

Furthermore, the presence of blazing new star Cecilia Cheung as Sky’s biggest admirer can only help things. With her rough voice and appealing innocence, she brings a freshness to the movie that Lau’s usual starlets Shu Qi and Kristy Yeung would be hard-pressed to match. That said, Lau reuses some of his more familiar faces, such as Jerry Lamb and the aforementioned Blackie Ko. This movie is basically Young and Dangerous on wheels, which isn’t such a bad thing when you consider Ekin Cheng’s limited dramatic range. As commercial HK Cinema goes, this is a better-than-average effort. (Kozo 1999)

Shopping

Shopping at Hurstville today. Tried the cafe opposite HMV. The service was really good. The cake and hot chocolate was not bad! Have a headache. Must be too much walking! Witnessed a post-crash scene just outside the shopping centre with ambulance and police cars. Guess the crash wasn't too bad. Just a guy had his head bandaged.

Grumpy

Nice weather. Went to officeworks to photocopy this morning. Still trying to change classes but no one is giving up their space!

Mr Zumbo

We have the funkiest lecturer this semester for marketing and distributive law. Mr Zumbo is the lecturer. Frank Zumbo. I won't say its the most bludgy subject but it definitely has one of the more humourous lecturers around. He doesn't even expect everyone to turn up to class every week! Today's lecture was meant to be 3 hours and we finished after one. And he cracks jokes that are actually funny!

Went yum cha with aunty and uncle before uni. The bill today (5 people) was even cheaper than when we went to North Ryde (3 people) for yum cha...

First day of uni

Well not too eventful. Separation from my twin for 2 psychology classes!! Ouch that hurts Its kinda funny actually, the first and last semesters are the only ones for the entire 4 years where our timetables were not identical.

Anyone have break on wednesday 1-2pm??

Lola's party!

L hope you liked our pressies and had a fun day!! Yesterday went out with mum to buy present. Went to buy flowers this morning. Had lunch at Excelsior! Good to catch up with high school friends. Played seseame street UNO and Big 2 at Lola's place. Haven't played either of these card games for ages!!

Cruising

I wish it was the sea and boat type but no its cruising in a car. Went to North Ryde for yum cha. Car had flat battery. Had to call NRMA and then was told to keep the car running for an hour. On our way home, bypassed sydney harbour tunnel through ED, M5, out at bevo, hurstville through to southgate, taren point, ramsgate and then home. Our ultimate plan of going to Macquarie Centre didn't happen. Guess that will have to wait till next time.

Expectations

Just something to ponder about....Sometimes I reckon that the more you look forward to something or the more you expect something to happen - it never does or at least it rarely happens according to your plans. On the converse, things happen when you least expect. I wonder why! How would life turn out if everything was predictable? I once read somewhere which said something like if we were to wait until we were 100% sure before taking any action we won't make any choices at all.

Jigsaw

Yay! Bought 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle today for $10...running out of walls to hang these jigsaws! Can't start on it yet though cause have to buy a board to put it on first. Only one more week of holidays left. Don't want uni to start yet! Cooking aint all that bad afterall. Very satisfied when things turn out well but very disappointed if it turns out bad. Being slobby again. Haven't been keeping up with daily exercise.

Dust dust dust

Those are the only words I could use to describe our garage. Finally dusted out the garage. That also meant moving more rubbish from my room to the garage. The end effect is to create a less cluttered room but somehow it still seems the same.

Update

About time to update. Have watched Love Bond and currently watching The Bronze Teeth II and My Family.

Watched Initial D. Quite liked the movie despite the storyline revolving mainly around racing rivalries. Some funny moments which made it enjoyable!

Watched Queen on the Bay by myself. Yeah guess that wasn't as fun but nonetheless the fireworks made up for it. Sat for 3 hours before it began - eating wind.

Yippee!

Finally got my hands on some much long awaited tapes to keep me company. So don't be surprised if I stage a disappearance over the next two weeks. It would just probably mean that I'm 'stuck' in front of the tv....I shall begin my video marathon in the next couple of minutes!

Finale

Was finishing off the series yesterday. A typical happy family ending. Too bad real life stories are not always like that. Maybe that's what life is all about. Its the ups and downs that make life so fascinating. Never knowing what to expect or happen. So many choices and consequences....or is life what Macbeth says it is - 'a story told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing'. For some strange reason this quote have stayed with me since year 12. Can you really choose your own destiny or is it all predetermined no matter what you do or what choices you make?

Injection!

Ouch! Got the flu shot so hopefully won't get sick anytime soon! Another cold, gloomy and boring day! I'm getting bored of my own complaints!! I'll try to cut down on it but I really can't help it because I keep myself occupied by complaining. How sad...haha. Living life in the slow lane at the moment....

My driving hasn't really improved. Still scared sometimes about not staying in my own lane and driving when there is a lot of traffic. Argghh...don't like it when I'm driving around truckies or buses either.

Boring as...

Can't be bothered going out so have been staying at home. Yup I jinxed myself. Haven't been walking either for the past 2 days. Reverting back to my usual lazy self! Aint a lot that you can do at home but yeah...feeling tired, bored and dry. Must be the effect of overcast weather. My task of cleaning my room is still in progress - probably done around 30%??? The dust is once again covering my desk - a dustless desk does not last at all! Not very motivated in doing housework!

Frustrated when you want to talk to people but don't know what to say. Oh well. Some people just have a knack of talking whilst others are just so...'lost'. Probably the best solution is burying myself at home like I am now Well hope everyone is enjoying themselves!! At least I have the good old tv to keep me sane!

There were so many things before the holidays that I said I would or want to do. But now when the holiday is here, I don't feel like doing anything. Part of human nature? Never satisfy with what you have until its gone? I'm sounding so philosophical.....once the holiday is over I'll be complaining that I want the holidays again! The cycle just continues.....

Lets just say its not my lucky day today...feeling sick again....not in a happy mood tonight..buggar!

Alex Lee Hom Wang

Taiwan superstar performer Alex Lee-Hom Wang has come away from a successful tour stop in Malaysia.

During this year's tour, white dragons lined the sides of the center stage projection, melding his talents and Chinese culture.

The show brought motivated fans from Taiwan, Japan and Singapore.

Lee-Hom played many kinds of musical instruments including piano, drum, violin and the urheen. His talent for music has best been presented to the audience over his unbelievable 10 year career.

In addition to singing a lot of famous songs such as "In Faraway Places" and "Impossible to Miss You", Lee-Hom also performed danced, winning passionate applause from the whole audience.

Its pretty amazing..such a great talent!!! How often do you see people play the 'ee wu' in concerts these days??? I want to learn the violin too! But somehow I don't think that's gonna happen. Oh well...I guess I'll just have to suffice by listening to other violinists!!

Nothing thrilling

Guess nothing much has happened over the past 2 days. Have been at home watching some old tapes...A Herbalist Affair. It's quite good cause I've forgotten the storyline since it was from a couple of years ago. So far have kept up with my beach walking!! Yay!!

Madagascar rocks!!

Had lunch and watched Madagascar with Lola and Leanna! Must say it was one of the funniest 'animations' that I have seen in ages!! Alex was the cutest!!!

Can't help but to provide a synposis from the Madagascar site SPOILERS below so if you want to watch it then do NOT read further!!!

Alex the Lion is the king of the urban jungle as the main atraction at New York's Central Park Zoo. He and his best friends Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe and Gloria the Hippo have lived their entire lives in blissful captivity, complete with lavish meals and their own park views.

Not content to leave well enough alone, Marty allows his curiosity to get the better of him and, with the help of some prodigious penguins, makes his escape to explore the world he's been missing, intending to return before the morning. In the middle of the night, Alex, Melman and Gloria discover their friend missing and decide the only course of action is to break out of the zoo and get Marty back home before anyone notices they're gone.

Even in New York, a lion, giraffe and hippopotamus wandering the streets and riding the subway are bound to attract some attention. Alex, Melman and Gloria manage to track Marty down in Grand Central Station, but before they can catch the train home, they are darted, captured, crated and put on a ship to Africa by well-meaning humans who think they should be freed from the stress of New York life.

When those plotting penguins sabotage the ship, Alex, Marty, Melman and Gloria find themselves washed ashore on the exotic island of Madagascar. Now, these native New Yorkers have to figure out how to survive in the wild and discover the true meaning of the phrase "It's a jungle out there".


I highly recommend it for anyone who wants a good laugh!!!

Home...mostly

I think my 'home' routine is pretty much the same each time...my day has been beach walking but because it was overcast this arvo, we didn't walk as long just in case it started raining, playing piano, reading magazines - or rather looking at pictures since its in chinese and tv. Doesn't get all that exiciting! Oh well...guess the exercising doesn't do me any justice since I just devoured half a packet of CCs.

Vroommm.....

Had a pretty full day today. Began the day with a walk along the beach! Yay...I kept to my word that I will exercise! Hope that it will continue for the next 3 weeks... My driving destinations today were: home -> fish market -> bexley north -> home -> miranda -> caringbah -> home. The most I have driven in one day. Quite proud of my achievement
