Just a preliminary plan for the holidays:
The annual Winter Concert Series returns to Darling Harbour this July, with three wondrous nights celebrating three unique musical styles. And they're all FREE!
Revel in the brilliant music created by those great 20th century composers, Leonard Bernstein and George Gershwin and performed by the acclaimed Sydney Concert Orchestra. Opera Australia will provide another superb evening of highlights from its current season, including HMS Pinafore and Verdi's Nabucco. Direct from sell-out shows overseas, come along and witness the remarkable musical tribute Queen - It's a Kinda Magic. Each concert also features a glittering themed fireworks finale.
Saturday 2 July - Bernstein and Gershwin on the Bay.
Saturday 9 July - Opera on the Bay.
Saturday 16 July - Queen on the Bay.
All the action will be centre stage on the Aquashell floating stage at Cockle Bay from 7pm to 8pm. So rug up, bring the family and take a seat in the stunning outdoor setting that is Cockle Bay's Amphitheatre.
Would love to go to at least one of these - prob the 16/7??...I would probably ask around and see who's interested later since no one probably reads this anymore..haha. Hopefully some will be interested...ask your friends...the more the merrier..
