Who's that in the AFR??????

My oh my!! She looks soooo familiar :p There's still time...get the Australian Financial Review (AFR) to read the article THIS WEEKEND..haha...I so sound like I'm advertising!! I would put up the entire article if I knew how thumbnails worked...

Article Title: Welcome aboard, you'll be starting on $100,000!!!!

"Of course, we hear all this stuff that it's a strong job market but from where we are standing, the job market is very competitive and in order for us to stand out from the 1399 other applicants and secure a first interview, students need much more than high marks".

"There are just so many 'shining stars' at uni now that presenting a strong CV has gone way beyond having good marks and playing lots of sport"

"Above all, its about being well-rounded in everything and being able to display your ability to constantly make an impression and your ongoing contribution to a range of organisations".

NB: Other quotes have been made but it has been 'banned' from this site...

WE DEFINITELY HAVE ONE SHINING STAR RIGHT HERE IN FRONT OF US!! :p

Oh Miss Zhou, you're going to have to give me your autograph so I can make a fortune out of it later down the track!!!

Crap

Someone threw out some of my audit articles!! but then again i guess i'm part of the blame since i didn't keep in a safe place - but i didn't expect him to be so efficient in cleaning up!...

Waiting

Cloud 9

Despite the fact that I still have more exams and assessments next week - after the tax one tonight I feel a lot more relaxed :) but I know that I will start stressing on sunday night when I realise that I have no idea what's been going on in stats for the past 9 weeks!!

CLB7 is so much nicer after the renovations - but the air-con is still as cold! The scheduled 6:10 exam didn't start until 6:35...so stuffy waiting just outside the room cause there were so many people!

Timing couldn't be better. I got down to the platform just as the train was approaching.

Misunderstanding! sigh...that always happen - why do people always seem to misunderstand me? especially when talking on the phone...but its all good! :p

SSS

Sleepy, stressed and stuffed!!!

That's all I can say :(

Psychology

I actually enjoyed today's lecture in psychology. didn't end up falling asleep so the one hour lecture for the day didn't go to waste!! the three interesting facts learnt: people perform better with the presence of other people, internet increases the 'likeability' of people and allow 'weird' people to feel 'not so weird' and when monkeys are housed in a group compared to when they were alone - they have a higher awareness of the feeling of happiness and hence are less likely to resort to cocaine to get the 'high' feeling.

More Numerology below:

You want to be of service to the world. Your deepest satisfaction comes from knowing that you have advanced the cause of humanity.

Your ideals are of the highest order. You are a perfectionist. You strive to make the world a utopia; to make each person's lot in life better; to become perfect yourself. One of your challenges in life is to strive toward your lofty goals and at the same time recognize the good you are doing.

You like and are fascinated by people from all walks of life. Human nature is a lifelong study for you. You are highly intuitive, but not an especially good judge of character. You are a bit naive, as well, thinking perhaps that all people have the same values as you.

You dream of having the resources to immediately relieve the suffering of others, whether it is economic, physical, or psychological.

You are gifted with a good mind and a great deal of wisdom, which makes you a natural teacher, counselor, or healer.

As much as you desire to be of service to others, you also crave fame and the approval of the masses. Much of the energy you expend in life is directed toward putting yourself before an audience, most often as a salesperson whose product provides some social good; as a philanthropist; or an artist.

You are attracted to the arts as a vocation, especially as an actor, photographer, or writer. But whatever your profession, any involvement in the arts, even as a hobby, will provide you with a deep and lasting satisfaction.

Secretly, you dream of having a big impact on the world. Others may see this as egotism, especially when you are still young. But your concern for others is genuine. You must apply yourself in this direction in order to become psychologically whole and personally satisfied.

Your vision is on the crowds of people, which can cause you to overlook the needs of those closest to you. You need personal love as well, but have a tendency to put your needs in the background. Still, you are a loving person, and only need to be reminded to direct and demonstrate that love to those nearby. If, however, you are focused exclusively on the masses, people will perceive you as distant and a bit aloof.

You are emotional, and sensitive. You can also be moody and critical. You have high expectations for yourself and others. This can cause you much anger when your expectations are unfulfilled. One of your most important life lessons is to forgive.

Because you are striving hard to attain high ideals, you may think of yourself as superior to others. Arrogance is a trap many 9s fall into. The danger is that arrogance cuts you off from the thing you love the most: people.

Your happiness and contentment are therefore highly dependant on the ease with which you are able to serve and influence mankind.

It is the paradox of your Heart's Desire that you receive by giving. Both your material success and spiritual satisfaction are made possible through service and sacrifice to others.

Screaming

Just feel like screaming out across the ocean - like they do in movies...does that really help people feel better when they are upset/stressed?? I want to try but then again do not have the courage...

Guys

Its so true. Yesterday the lecturer was saying how gals talk about different things to guys. LIke gals would talk about 'how things are going' and catch up on the goss and stuff like that whilst guys would talk about 'topical issues'.

Got to the lecture room earlier today and just happened to overhear some guys talking - wasn't deliberate mind you..haha. Well I just thought it was funny how they were talking about religion/philosophy, politics and science - something I would probably rarely - if ever, talk about.

Not a good day...

Have mid-session on Tuesday so went to uni bookshop to buy the handbook - yup I know its a bit late - funny I'm still buying textbooks like in week 7. Found out it was sold out - why am I not surprised?? Well, decided I'll order one anyway - probably have to check out the city bookshop tomorrow!! Damn auditing...

Lecture that was suppose to be my one and only for the day - only lasted half an hour...

Now, my weekend will be spent doing - going out sunday, psyc report due tuesday, audit mid-sem tuesday, tax mid-sem friday......far out, that doesn't leave me much time at all!!

Indulgence

Tetsuya in Sydney is ranked 4th as the world top restaurants. I was thinking that I might go in the holidays to see how good it is but then I checked out the site...a bit out of my price range. Tetsuya's ten-course degustation menu is $175 (GST inclusive) per person. Maybe a couple years later when I earn a bit more. Now that word 'degustation' sounds extremely familiar :p

From SMH:

Top 50 restaurants

And Rockpool coming in at number 42. Didn't we have Rockpool catering for our year 12 formal? I don't remember the food being all the good. Maybe the restaurant is different.

Oh gosh, I should be studying here, not talking about food!
